Trim Levels of the 2023 Jeep Wrangler

Discover the Lineup Here!

The Jeep Wrangler tells a patriotic story, getting its inspiration from the military Willys Jeeps used by the allied forces to win World War II. Following its success on the battlefield, the Willys Jeep was given a civilian form that progressed into the Jeep Wrangler. Its roots, however, still remain and can be seen in its rugged design. In the 2023 model year, the Jeep Wrangler rejoins the lineup with four well-equipped trim levels, including Sport, Willys, Sahara, and Rubicon. Each trim offers an array of standard features to fit the needs of any driver. Continue reading below for help deciding which Wrangler is right for you!

Sport

The Sport trim kicks off the Wrangler lineup with the bare necessities needed for any adventure. It comes standard with a 3.6L V6, a 6-speed manual transmission, and Jeep's rugged Command-Trac part-time 4x4 system. Of course, the Wrangler is known for its open-air freedom, so the Wrangler Sport features removable doors, a fold-down windshield, and a removable top. Two body styles are available for the Wrangler Sport. Standard equipment is a two-door body, while the Wrangler Unlimited models feature four doors. The Wrangler Sport's exterior also features underbody skid plates, 17-inch black steel wheels, black fender flares, black bumpers, and Dana heavy-duty axles. Inside, you'll find a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, a manual tilt/telescoping steering wheel with sound controls, and eight speakers.

Willys

The Jeep Wrangler Willys is inspired by the original military-issued Willys Jeep, as is told by the 'Willys' decal on the sides of the hood in bold military-style lettering. It can also be distinguished from behind by the '4-Wheel Drive' decal on the rear swing gate. It features off-road capability-enhancing features like rock rails for added protection, 32-inch mud-terrain tires, a limited-slip rear differential, a black grille, and all-weather floor mats.

Sahara

If you're looking for a Jeep Wrangler with a more premium feel, we recommend the Sahara. It features a more premium look with body-color side mirrors, LED exterior lighting, body-color fender flares, four doors, and 18-inch alloy wheels. Inside, you'll gain Alpine premium audio with nine speakers, dual-zone automatic climate control, an 8.4-inch touchscreen with navigation, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Under the hood, the Sahara trim swaps the V6 for a 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 engine and swaps the Command-Trac part-time 4x4 system out for the Selec-Trac full-time 4x4 system.

Rubicon

By far the toughest Wrangler, the Rubicon trim earned its name and Trail Rated badge by overcoming the Rubicon Trail in California, which is known to make even the most hardened off-roaders shudder. The Wrangler Rubicon comes exclusively with Rock-Trac 4x4, which provides a low-range gear ratio of 4:1, providing more torque at low speeds to better handle off-road crawling. This is important for such a rugged vehicle, as 3 MPH is the average speed in most spots along the Rubicon Trail. The Wrangler Rubicon also comes exclusively with an electronic sway bar disconnect. At the push of a button, this allows drivers to unlink the sway bar so the front wheels can drop and compress further to improve traction and overcome large trail obstacles. Other standard Rubicon features include locking front and rear differentials, red front and rear tow hooks, FOX shock absorbers, and 33-inch all-terrain tires.
