Before we get into all of the features that the Altitude has in its repertoire, let's have a peek at what's underneath the hood. The engine for the Altitude and the first couple of trims is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder that produces 180 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque and connects to a nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel-drive comes standard, but four-wheel-drive is an available option for those who want more traction. Next is the Latitude Lux, which is very aptly named and it comes with your choice of two powerful engine options. The first is a 3.2-liter V6 which pumps out an outstanding 271 horsepower and 239 lb-ft of torque, and the second is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that kicks out 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Both pair with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Now, if you have come for luxury, you have come to the right place with the Latitude Lux as it comes with leather seats, a 115V power outlet, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 7-inch TFT color display in the gauge cluster, a power liftgate, and a universal garage door opener!

Nex up is the X trim which comes with an off-road attitude! With this trim, you can get an Active Drive I AWD system with Selec-Terrain and a unique appearance package that has some special cloth seats. The V6 engine comes standard, as does an off-road-tuned suspension, wheel arch extensions, and a rear tow hook.

For some advanced off-road items, take a look at the Trailhawk trim, as it comes with some advanced off-road items such as unique wheels, a black hood decal, functional skid plates, and red tow hooks. This trim also comes standard with the V6 engine, and drivers will also be treated to an off-road suspension, heavy-duty engine cooling, and the Active Drive II AWD system with a 2-speed transfer case. You have the option of a loving rear end and red stitching and standard all-weather floor mats plus all-terrain tires, hill descent control, and Selec-Speed control.

The Limited comes with some of the most premium items for the Cherokee, and if you are into luxury, you're going to want to go with this trim. It comes with  18-inch painted diamond-cut aluminum wheels and a good amount of chrome. Other standard features for the Limited include a sunroof, leather seats,  and Alpine premium audio. Those who want more advanced safety features will enjoy the Limited as it has adaptive cruise control, side distance warning, automatic high beams, and park assist with a full stop.
