Learn More from Flagler CDJR!
The Rubicon trim was introduced to the Jeep Wrangler lineup in 2003 to enhance its all-terrain capability by adding off-roading features and equipment. To boast its off-roading abilities, the trim level was named after California's Rubicon Trail, one of the most daunting off-roading trails in America. The 2023 model year brings about the 20th anniversary of the Rubicon trim. To celebrate, Jeep is bringing out the most capable Wrangler Rubicon ever built with exclusive features and equipment. Available for the Wrangler Rubicon 4xe and Wrangler Rubicon 392, the 20th Anniversary Edition package captures the epitome of the Wrangler Rubicon. Continue reading below to learn more!
Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Standard Features
As we mentioned above, the Rubicon trim takes the Wrangler's off-roading capabilities to a new level. To do this, it needed exclusive equipment. Its superior off-roading ability begins with the Rock-Trac 4x4 transfer case. This part-time two-speed transfer case provides unrivaled crawling control by providing a gear ratio of 4:1 while the transfer case is set to 4-Low. This means that the transfer case output shaft will turn one time with every four rotations of the transmission output shaft. The result is higher torque while crawling over rugged terrain at low speeds. The Rubicon also comes with an electronically disconnecting sway bar. This feature lets the driver unlink the front sway bar at the push of a button to allow for greater wheel articulation meaning that the front wheels will compress and decompress further to crawl over trail obstacles more easily. Another off-road performance-enhancing features are the locking front and rear differentials. These give the driver the ability to make either the rear wheels or all four wheels drive at the same speed with the push of a button. This aids in traction and helps carry momentum over rugged terrain. Other standard features for the Wrangler Rubicon are FOX suspension components, all-terrain tires, red front and rear tow hooks, a one-inch factory lift, and more.

Using a turbocharged two-liter inline four-cylinder engine, two electric motors, and a rechargeable 400-volt battery pack, the Wrangler Rubicon 4xe offers 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. Meanwhile, the Rubicon 392 features a 6.4L HEMI V8 engine for 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque.
