How Capable is the 2023 Jeep Gladiator?
When it comes to capability, the Jeep Gladiator is a strong contender! Whether you're interested in getting tough jobs done, or want to push the boundaries of your next adventure, the Gladiator will be able to handle any challenge. There are four core trim levels, with many different sub-trims available. Across the board, all Gladiator models feature standard 4-wheel drive, which provides you with extra traction on any terrain. Starting with the Sport trim, you'll also find Dana 44 heavy-duty axles for added stability and strength. Under the hood, you can opt for one of two available engines. The standard engine is a 3.6-liter V6 engine rated at 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. This engine pairs with your choice of either a standard 6-speed automatic transmission, or an available 8-speed automatic transmission. The other option is a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 engine, which amps up the output to 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque!
What are the Gladiator's Off-Road Features?
The Jeep Gladiator really shines when it comes to its off-road abilities! We already mentioned some of the off-road features that come standard across the board, including standard 4-wheel drive. There are also multiple different 4X4 systems depending on the trim level you choose. For example, the Rubicon features the more rugged Rock-Trac part-time 4X4 system, which offers up to an 84:1 crawl ratio. The Rubicon has a lot of other great off-road features, including 33-inch all-terrain tires for extra traction out on the trails. There's also an electronically disconnecting sway bar, which allows for better articulation in the front wheels. The Rubicon features locking front and rear differentials which enhance your traction even further, and it also comes with steel off-road rock rails for protection. The Mojave has features built for the desert, including high-clearance fender flares, a 1-inch lift, and front hydraulic jounce bumpers.
What Design Features does the 2023 Gladiator Offer?
In addition to all of the amazing off-road features the Gladiator has to offer, it still has a wealth of exciting design features that create the playful and sporty driving experience that this pickup truck is known for. In terms of appearance, the Gladiator has a four-door layout with seating for up to five passengers inside. In the rear, you'll find the five-foot flatbed which features a sturdy three-position tailgate, and offers features like high-strength tie-down loops, and available spray-in bedliner. From the front, the Gladiator has a very similar appearance to the Jeep Wrangler, with its seven-slot grille, round headlamps, and removable roof and doors. Inside, the Gladiator features a Uconnect 4 NAV infotainment system with an 8.4-inch touchscreen, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity. Other available features include a 9-speaker premium Alpine audio system, dual-zone automatic climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and leather-trimmed seats.
