2021 Wrangler Rubicon 392 Debuts

Presented by Flagler Chrysler Dodge Jeep

The Jeep Wrangler is a legend and will most likely go down in history as the most recognizable vehicle, not to mention one of the most capable. Jeep knows better than to change the appearance of such an icon drastically. So how do they continue to make the Wrangler better and better year after year? You drop a 6.4-Liter V8 in it! The '392' in the name is a nod at the 392 cubic inch engine. The Rubicon 392 is set to roll on to showroom floors in January 2021. How Does the Rubicon 392 Set Itself Apart From Other Wranglers?

While most Wrangler models come with a 3.6L V6 engine, producing 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, the Rubicon 392 swaps this out with a 6.4L V8, which unloads 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque! Going 0-60 in 4.5 seconds, 40 percent faster than the Rubicon V6, it's no wonder the 392's catchphrase quickly became "get dirty faster." The engine pairs with a torque-flite 8-speed automatic transmission, which can be controlled by paddle shifters mounted behind the steering wheel. While being the most potent Wrangler ever, the 392 is also the most capable! A functional hood scoop has been added to keep cold air flowing to the engine as well. The Wrangler's off-road expertise is amplified by greater approach and departure angles, better suspension articulation, a two-inch factory lift, and an extra 2.5 inches of water fording. The approach, breakover, and departure angles have been upgraded to 44.5, 22.6, and 37.5 inches, respectively. Along with the 2-inch lift kit, you can also thank the Tri-Level Hydro-Guide air intake system for the 32.5 inches of water fording. This system can whisk up to fifteen gallons of water away from the engine every minute. Even if the hood scoop is clogged with mud, the Rubicon 392 can still hit top speed by using a secondary air path. With that kind of power and capability, there's not much the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 can't do!

What Other Features Come Standard in the Rubicon 392?

The 392 offers a long list of features that are usually available options on the Wrangler. This list includes an 8.4-inch touchscreen with integrated off-road pages, keyless entry with push-button start, LED exterior lighting, body-colored hardtop, leather seating with distinctive bronze stitching, and body-colored fender flares. The off-road pages help drivers monitor the real-time pitch, the front-to-back angle, roll, the side-to-side angle, power distribution, GPS coordinates, and more! The 392 is recognized by its distinctive badging and bronze accents.
