2022 Jeep Wrangler vs Ford Bronco

If you love off-roading, there are only two models you need to look at: the 2022 Jeep Wrangler and the Ford Bronco. Both of these vehicles are legendary when it comes to off-roading as they come with tons of premium off-road features and powerful engines, which make them a must-own for those who crave the adventures of the wilderness. While all of this off-road equipment is nice, both the Wrangler and the Bronco also come with a ton of tech and luxury equipment to make them well-rounded vehicles. While either of these vehicles would make a tremendous addition to your driveway, we think there is only one that you should be driving home. To find out which one comes out on top, read our comparison down below!

2022 Wrangler Engine Option

There are five spectacular engine options available for the 2022 Wrangler, and each one delivers an exceptional amount of power! The base engine is a 3.6-liter V6 which pumps out an outstanding 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque which you get with either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission. After this, there are several options available, with the first being a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that pumps out a potent 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque and the second an ultra-powerful 6.4-liter V8 which pounds the pavement with 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque which is available on the four-door Rubicon. Looking for some diesel power? No problem! The 2022 Wrangler gives you the option of a turbocharged 3.0-liter diesel-powered V6 pumping out 260 horses and 442 lb-ft of torque. Finally, there is the plug-in hybrid known as the 4xe, which gives you 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, which you can get with the four-door Rubicon and Sahara.

2022 Bronco Engine Option

There are only two engine options available for the 2022 Ford Bronco, and it struggles to compete with what the Wrangler has to offer. The first three trims of the Bronco come with a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder which kicks out 181 horsepower and 190 lb-ft of torque. When you get to the Badlands, trim, you get a little more power in the form of a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that gets you 250 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque. Both engines pair with an eight-speed automatic transmission, and there is a standard all-wheel-drive system. This power is fine, but you're better off with the Jeep Wrangler if you want to hit the trails!

2022 Wrangler Features

Overall there are four trims available for the Wrangler, and you get a solid mix of performance, tech, luxury, and off-road items. The base trim is the Sport which is standard with foglights, tow hooks, skid plates, 17-inch steel wheels, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Building on this is the Sport S which has a few more performance items such as alloy wheels, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and air conditioning. For those who are looking for more luxury items, we highly suggest the four-door Sahara, which comes with a body-colored grille and fender flairs, 18-inch wheels, a full-time four-wheel drive, and automatic climate control. Finally, off-roaders will love the Rubicon as it gets you the most exceptional off-road items such as 17-inch wheels, all-terrain tires, heavy-duty front and rear axles, locking front and rear differentials, and rock rails. There is also a premium version of the Rubicon known as the 392, which gets you high-performance electronic brakes, a 2-inch suspension lift, Fox shock absorbers, LED headlights, leather upholstery, heated front seats, and an upgraded infotainment system.

2022 Bronco Features

The 2022 Ford Bronco features a few exciting features throughout its trim lineup. With the base trim, you get 16-inch steel wheels, LED headlights, keyless entry/ignition, remote start/lock/unlock, cloth upholstery, power windows, tow hooks, and air conditioning. Tech features include an 8-inch touchscreen and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. If you want more premium features, you're going to have to go with one of the higher trims. These premium features for the Bronco include heavy-duty powder-coated bumpers, underbody bash plates, 17-inch steel wheels wearing 32-inch all-terrain tires, vinyl seating, rubberized flooring, drain plugs, auxiliary switches, heated/cloth-covered front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a self-dimming rearview mirror. Off-road items include a heavier-duty suspension setup with a disconnecting front anti-roll bar and a Baja mode for terrain management.

Where to check out the Wrangler near me

While we think that the Bronco puts up a good fight, it can't compete with what the Wrangler has to offer! The Wrangler comes with more powerful engine options, and you get more advanced off-road features with the Wrangler than you do with the Bronco. We highly recommend taking a test drive of the Wrangler by heading down to Flagler Chrysler Dodge Jeep and speaking with our knowledgeable and friendly sales team members, who will set you up. If you enjoy driving the Wrangler, then be sure to check out our finance department, where we will work with you towards a deal that will suit your budget.
